HULDAH BUNTAIN TAKES HER FINAL STEPS INTO GLORY

On July 2, 2021…

in Oklahoma City, our beloved Huldah Buntain went home to be with the Lord. At the age of 96, she leaves behind her legacy and unwavering faith in the vision she shared with her husband, Rev Mark Buntain. Mission of Mercy Canada is so thankful that we have had the opportunity to share in the vision of Mark and Huldah for the past 43 years and onwards.

In February 2020, Huldah left Kolkata without knowing it would be her last trip to India. She joined her family in Oklahoma City, waiting for the opportunity to return to the land and people she so dearly loved. Mark and Huldah’s daughter Bonnie, shares in the vision and passion of her parents for India and asks that we would continue to partner in her parents’ legacy. “The work that God began with my parents over six decades ago in Kolkata, and spread throughout all of India, will continue for generations to come. This mantle of continuing the work has now been passed on to all of us who have been inspired by the lives and ministry of Mark and Huldah Buntain.”

Huldah provided us all with so many rich memories of a life lived well. She was fervently dedicated to showing the unfailing love of God to others, in particular, to the people of India. Under her oversight, the ministry in India grew to over 700 churches, hundreds of schools, children’s homes, feeding programs, rescue missions, and rehabilitation programs. The Mercy Hospital, founded by Mark and Huldah Buntain, served more than 2.2 million patients and offered charitable care to the poor and needy of Kolkata and the surrounding areas.

Mission of Mercy Canada is so grateful to be a stepping stone in Huldah’s journey! Reaching India….one step, one child at a time!

Your life was a blessing

your memory a treasure

you are loved beyond words

and missed beyond measure.
